Your six day Sri Lanka holiday itinerary
Day1 | On arrival at the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be received by our representative who will escort you to the vehicle as you start your memorable Sri Lankan holiday. Head to Negombo, known for its huge fishing industry and fish markets. Then check-in at the hotel and proceed to discover Negombo on a city tour. Explore the Old Dutch Fort, which is now a part of the prison. Also see the Dutch Canal which was an old supply route to the Dutch colonial administration, few old churches and fishing colonies. Then visit Kotchchikade to browse through few local handicrafts, gems shops and restaurants that accommodate a perfect taste for tourist. As the day ends, return to the hotel for an overnight stay at Maravila. |
Day2 | Have a healthy breakfast and check-out from the hotel. Proceed to visit Chilaw to discover the famous places like Munneswaram Temple and Manavari Temple which are associated with the Indian epic Ramayana. You will also visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage which is an orphanage, nursery and breeding ground for elephants. Then proceed to Dalada Maligawa known as 'Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic', a sacred place for Buddhists. Also visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, a paradise for nature lovers and the Gem Museum featuring the finest collection of semi-precious stone jewellery. In the evening, witness a traditional cultural dance show with Kandyan music and the dresses. Head back to the hotel for an overnight stay at Kandy. |
Day3 | Start the day with a healthy breakfast and then check-out. Proceed to the city of lights, Nuwara Eliya. Nuwara Eliya is the main hill resort of Sri Lanka and the heart of the tea industry. This city with an elevation of 6200 meters is the highest in Sri Lanka. Once a pleasure retreats of the European planters the town is still very much an English town with many English style bungalows and buildings. Get a chance to visit these tea plantations. Visit the Hakgala Botanical gardens a group of five botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. Also visit the cascading Ramboda waterfall, the highest waterfall of Sri Lanka. End this beautiful day with a visit to the Hanuman temple after which return to your hotel in Nuwara Eliya for the night. |
Day4 | After breakfast, proceed to Sita Amman Temple, a modern building with paintings, statues and pillars decorated with sculptures; all depicting the tale of Rama and Sita. Then visit Divurumpola Temple where Sita performed her Agni Pariksha to proving her chastity to her husband Rama. This place is still worshiped and respected. Head back to the hotel for an overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya. |
Day5 | Enjoy a delicious breakfast and check-out from the hotel. Proceed to Colombo and check-in at the hotel. It is the largest city and commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Along with the city tour of Colombo, visit the Anjaneyar Templewhich is the only Panchamuga (five faced) Hanuman temple in Sri Lanka. Spend the rest of the day at leisure and overnight stay at the hotel in Colombo. |
Day6 | After breakfast, check-out from the hotel as you are transferred back to the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport for departure. Depart from Sri Lanka with memories of exploring the epic Ramayana tale by visiting the most significant places of the legend. |
