History follows us, it feeds on our passing moments, it is us. Every era holds a different face, and with the growing times, the eras evolve, to become something more, something different. We’ve all heard from our elders this phrase, ‘In our times…’, and they too have heard it from theirs, and have had some amount of curiosity, and fascination for what went before us. If you are a history lover, you will love these, if not, you will still like them, for they’re incredibly beautiful. The structure, the architecture, and the aesthetics, of these historical wonders will move you. Come, let’s take a stroll through the bylanes of our glorious past.

1. Albert Hall Museum

Built in Jaipur, Rajasthan in the Indo-Saracenic style, it opened up as a public museum in 1887.

 

 

2. Kesi Ghat, Vrindavan

Kesi Ghat in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, is situated on the bank of river Yamuna, and is believed to be the place where the Hindu deity Krishna took a bath after killing the demon Kesi.

 

 

3. Purana Qila

Purana Qila, a fort in Delhi is known as the oldest to be built in the capital. It was built by the Afghan King, Sher Shah Suri.

 

 

4. Bala Quila

Bala Quila, a fort in Alwar, Rajasthan, is also known as Alwar fort. It was built by Hasan Khan Mewati.

 

5. Patwon Ki Haveli

Patwon ki Haveli in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, is a structure that comprises of five havelis within it. The foundations were laid by Guman Chand Patwa, and it took 55 years to complete it.

 

 

6. Bara Bagh

Bara Bagh, also known as Bada bagh which means ‘big garden’, is a complex garden situated between Jaisalmer and Lodhruva.
