The rugged feel, and the undertone hues of the earth, and the warmth of a home, you won’t be able to resist! There are 1500 underground family sized homes in Coober Pedy. They chose to build a dream home for themselves when they could crib about the problems. And mind you, these are not just homes that serve the purpose of survival, but promote the art of living life to the fullest. These spacious, self designed, dream homes are one of the great wonders of engineering.

Note- These homes are called as dugouts and these dream homes have entrances above ground. They have cement floors and support pillars of about 40 inches thick. They also have natural air shafts for ventilation.
