Ascribing the origins of Arabic Coffee to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar - UNESCO added Majlis and Gahwa to its list of Intangible Cultural History of Humanity in 2015.

How is the Arabic Coffee prepared?

Dallah
First, coffee beans are lightly roasted in a shallow pan over fire. Next, they are placed into a copper mortar and crushed with a pestle. They are emptied into a pitcher (Dallah), water is added; the pitcher is then placed on fire. Once brewed, it is poured into small cups and served to the guests. Since the coffee is strong and bitter, it is served with dates.
