Some highlights:
Muscat: The capital's got layers. You'll see shining white mosques, a chill waterfront (the corniche is chef's kiss for sunset strolls) and souks crammed with spices, textiles and you guessed it - more frankincense than you'll ever need. Don't skip the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque; it's jaw-dropping.
Nizwa: This one's pure old-school. The 17th-century fort looks like it could shrug off a cannonball, and the souk is a riot of colour and chatter. Show up on a Friday for the livestock market—it's chaos, but in the best way.
The Hajar Mountains: Rugged. Epic. Sometimes it feels like Mars with goats. Jebel Shams is called the "Grand Canyon of Arabia" for a reason, and Jebel Akhdar's so green you'll wonder if you took a wrong turn into Switzerland.
Wadis & Deserts: For your "Lawrence of Arabia" moment, hit Wahiba Sands—miles of rolling gold, camels, and Bedouin camps where the stars go absolutely bonkers at night. Then cool off in a wadi which is basically a natural waterpark. Wadi Shab and Wadi Bani Khalid both have these dreamy blue pools that feel like some secret oasis which are perfect after a day of sand-in-your-shoes exploring.
Honestly? If you're chasing something different, Oman's the sort of place that quietly gets under your skin—in the best way.
