Japan simplifies visa rules for Indians

    Indians will now require only 3 documents for Japan visa

    Starting from January 1, 2018, Indians can travel to Japan with a multiple-entry visa for a short-term stay. As a crucial step for promoting tourism and commerce, Japan has relaxed is visa regime for Indians by simplifying the visa application procedure.

    According to the release issued by the Foreign Ministry of Japan, Indian applicants will have to submit only 3 documents to apply for multiple-entry-visa-

    1. Passport
    2. Visa application form (with photo)
    3. If travelling for tourism, documents to prove the applicant’s financial capability. If travelling for work, documents to prove his/her affiliation to the mentioned companies or enterprises

    5-Year Multiple Entry Visa

    For those who have travelled to Japan more than once in the last one year, the embassy will issue a 5-year multiple-entry visa with a maximum stay of 90 days. In this case, the applicant will have to submit his passport and visa application form.

    “The relaxations are expected to help further development of people-to-people exchanges between Japan and India by enhancing convenience for Indian tourists and business persons as well as repeat visitors,” states the release.
