The Serpentine lake in Hyde Park

Go boating on the Serpentine lake, the 40-acre lake in Hyde Park , London. A man-made lake that was built by Queen Caroline is now the venue for many activities. You can go boating, swimming and enjoy the view from the Hyde Park that is adjoining the lake. Look forward for the memorial fountain assembled between the Hyde Park paying a tribute to Princess Diana.

Another notoriety that made Serpentine lake famous in December 1816 was when Harriet Westbrook, wife of the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, drowned herself leaving a suicide note. The park has a fleet of rowing and pedal boats for hire but if you prefer to just ease back with your mate or aide, you could take a ride on the Solar Shuttle. A magnificent vessel that glides silently across the lake, that serves you with beautiful surrounding. You could even go for a swim in the Serpentine Lido. Later, head for the Serpentine Gallery and get a glimpse of cultural events.

The South Bank and the London Eye

Take a strol along the South Bank, an area located in Central London. The well known River Thames is immediately located adjacent to South Bank. Snap the skateboarders on the streets, eye catchy graffiti, with the street full of art. As you strike London the next place you want to visit is the London Eye. Capture the view as you curve the ride. There is lot to choose from the various events at the South Bank Centre. As you pass by, other than the artistic picture, comes the various rooftop bars and restaurants. After the lengthy involvement at the riverside, chill yourself with amazing food and the cool environment at the rooftops food junctions. If you are there on a weekend, pop in behind the Royal Festival Hall and check out the Real Food Market for sampling of cuisine from around the world.

Ride the Boris bike

The next must do is hire a Boris bike and ride around randomly. If you are not sure where to start from, join one of the Guided Rides. If you wish to head out on your own but still need some guidance, pick from Transport for London’s Leisure Routes. Grab one as early as you can, as it one of the busiest places for rides. From Saturday Markets to one called Quirky London, discover London’s hidden gems on pedal power.

Madame Tussauds

Is it reel or real? Make yourself amazed by the crafting of famous personalities at the world famous Madame Tussauds museum. A place where you come face to face with your admiring stars, not for real, but could feel the beauty and absolute making of the wax statues. Strike poses with your favourite superstars, sport stars and Marvel super hero's.

London’s market

And then visit the London’s various markets. Open from Wednesday to Saturday indulge yourself with fresh produce, cheeses, coffee, ciders, fish and more at the Borough Market. Producers from many countries gather to serve fresh produced fish, meats, vegetables, ciders, cheeses, breads, coffees, cakes and patisseries. If you are an art lover then this place may excite you with British made arts and crafts, jewellery and antiques. Delight yourself with food, artistic products as the market not only has some great gift ideas but with several street performances. And if you are missing a taste of home, stroll through the Brick Lane market where you could not only pick up a bargain or two but also gorge on some Indian and Bangladeshi food.

Buckingham Palace

The London home of Queen Elizabeth II. You get a chance to visit the palace for an open tour. There are few areas of the palace accessible for visitors like the rooms where the Queen and members of the Royal family host guests for State, ceremonial, and official affairs. Experience the exquisite English and French furniture inside the palace. It displays some of the most magnificent pieces from the Royal Collection.
