Traveler guidelines

The information below is a guideline for infant and child travellers, but the rules of your trip are final and binding in the event of a conflict. Talk to Musafir.com Travel Experts if you would like to arrange a trip which does not meet these guidelines.

Infants (0-1 year)

Infants who are more than seven days old on the first date of their trip and less than two years old on the last date of their trip may travel on an adult's lap or in a bassinet during their flight, provided that the adult is at least eighteen years old. Furthermore, each adult may only accompany one infant on a flight and a hotel room may only be occupied by up to two infants, regardless of the number of accompanying adults.

Infants who are less than seven days old on the first date of their trip will only be allowed to fly for emergency medical reasons or on compassionate grounds at each airline's discretion.

Some countries may also require that you hold appropriate documentation to prove that you are either parents, guardians or have custody rights for each infant accompanying you.

Children (2-11 years)

Children who are more than two years old and less than twelve years old on the last date of their trip may travel in a separate seat accompanied by an adult who is at least eighteen years old during their flight and must be accompanied by an adult who is at least eighteen years old during their hotel stay.

Some airlines offer an unaccompanied minor service for children traveling alone, and generally at a higher fare. Talk to our Travel Experts if you would like to arrange such a trip.
