First man in the planet to reach 200, and it’s the Superman from India Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.

“On a train from Shimla to Delhi, there was a halt in one of the stations. The train stopped by for few minutes as usual. Sachin was nearing a century, batting on 98. With 62 awards, Sachin Tendulkar holds the most ‘Man of the Match’ awards in ODI (One Day International).

1. 128 against Sri Lanka at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1998

Sachin Tendulkar scored his first century in ODI matches only in 1994, after a span of almost 9 years of starting his career. In fact, it was in this very stadium that he first scored a century. Four years later, in the finals of the Singer-Akai Nidahas Trophy, Sachin scored a soaring 128 in just 131 balls and bought the winning trophy home.

2. 98 against Pakistan at SuperSport Park, Centurion, South Africa in 2003

It was the ICC World Cup 2003 and the deciding game for India to qualify for the Super Six round. Sachin Tendulkar opened India’s line-up and was unstoppable. He hit 12 fours and 1 six and secured a good score for India. On winning, firecrackers were burst all across the country as qualifying for Super Six and at the same time defeating the long time rivals was just too ecstatic.

3. 117* against Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground, Australia in 2008

India was chasing a huge total of 239 runs in the 1st final of the Commonwealth Bank Series. With an amazing score of 117*, Sachin Tendulkar sealed victory for India. The winning series saw one of his most sublime innings.

4. 163* against New Zealand at Christchurch, New Zealand in 2009

Sachin Tendulkar played one hell of an innings scoring 163 runs in just 133 balls. His power-packed performance included 16 fours and 5 sixes; making the audience roar every time the ball soared in the air.

5. 200* against South Africa at Roop Singh International Stadium, Gwalior in 2010

Sachin Tendulkar, a man with a magic wand created history! What was considered to be an unachievable feat was easily conquered by Sachin Tendulkar. He is the first batsman to have scored a double century in the history of ODIs. He smashed 25 fours and 3 sixes. From the commentary box, an exhilarated Ravi Shastri said, “The first man in the planet to reach 200, and it’s the Superman from India Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.”
