Things to know

  • The US is a vast nation and hence the weather pattern here varies from place to place, like snowy at one to desert hot at others. This makes it crucial to focus on the activities to do during your trip to the US which in turn will help you choose the best time to visit in the country. Let us understand the seasons in US to get overview of the weather and crowd patterns:

    • Spring (March to May): This usually has pleasant climate in most parts of the country. It is a great time to visit national parks and southern states. You can also visit annual events such as cherry blossoms in Washington D.C. etc, one of the best snaps for your instagram.
    • Summer (June to August): This is the prime tourist season. Beaches are amazing, road trips, yes they make sense, and everyone’s out and about to explore the weather. Warning though: prices for hotels and flights go up because, well, everyone else had the same idea as you, so that's that. Also, some places get hot-hot, so pack accordingly.
    • Autumn/Fall (September to November): The crowds are scarce during this time, the leaves make a show with beautiful colours, and the temperatures are all over the place - sometimes you’re in a t-shirt, sometimes you need a jacket. Great for energetic outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and pretending you’re in a coffee commercial with all that foliage behind you.
    • Winter (December to February): Yes, it gets cold. Like, “why did I leave my bed?” cold. Most tourists bail, so it’s quieter and sometimes cheaper. If you’re into skiing or snowboarding, it’s paradise. Not a fan of freezing? Head south - Florida, Texas, Arizona - still comfy, and you won’t have to scrape ice off a rental car.
  • Once you get your US tourist visa for Indians, it will open a wide range of options to make memories for your trip to the United States. Let us see the breadth of options for Indian travelers to explore the country and make the most of your travel here:

    • East Coast Legends: New York City. Duh. You’ve seen Times Square in a million movies—yes, it’s neon chaos in person. The Statue of Liberty’s doing her thing, the Empire State still stands tall, and if you don’t stroll through Central Park, did you even go? Oh, and Broadway. Good luck getting cheap tickets, but hey, miracles happen. Washington D.C.—presidents everywhere (not literally, relax). The White House is smaller than you’d think, the National Mall is basically a walk through American history, and the Smithsonian museums are free, which is honestly a win. Boston’s got its own vibe—lots of brick, Freedom Trail if you’re into history, and a whole “throwing tea in the harbor” mood. Niagara Falls (the New York side). It’s loud, wet, and, yeah, kind of awesome. Bring a poncho or embrace the soak.
    • West Coast Stuff: L.A.—expect to see zero celebrities, but hey, the Hollywood sign is there. Universal Studios is a blast, and Santa Monica Pier is good for ‘that’ beach photo. San Francisco: Golden Gate Bridge (foggy more often than not),& Alcatraz (creepy cool). Grand Canyon, Arizona. It’s basically Earth showing off. Your camera won’t do it justice, but you’ll try. Las Vegas—lights, chaos, slot machines.
    • Down South & Beyond: Florida: Theme park central. Orlando’s got more Disney than you can shake a churro at. Miami? Beaches, parties, and all the pastel you can handle. New Orleans: Jazz, beads, and beignets. French Quarter is a party and a history lesson rolled into one. Hawaii: It’s paradise, basically.
