All travellers planning to visit France should obtain the France Visa, before leaving India. For travellers who wish to apply for France Visa, the embassy allows the submission of the duly completed applications, three months onward prior to the intended date of travel.
In the case of France Visa for Indians, the embassy advises travellers to apply well in advance, especially in the months spanning April through July, due to the increased rush. This usually helps in the smooth processing of the visa.
In case the applicant is unable to submit the duly filled form along with the documents in person at the visa application centre, the same must be submitted via an authorised travel agent or a representative. However, the candidate must go in person if the biometrics are required for processing the visa.
For applicants with a valid Schengen Visa, but an expired Indian passport, the applicant will be required to carry both the expired as well as the new passport. However, he/she will not be required to obtain a new visa for entering France or any other Schengen nation.
Travellers must make a note of the fact that the visa for France cannot be extended. The visa also cannot be renewed, and the entire process of applying for the same must be followed in order for the traveller to obtain a new visa.
Moreover, a traveller cannot stay in France beyond the date of expiry of the visa.
