Sunderban Safari

Arrive at the Kolkata airport or the Howrah railway station. Located on the Eastern bank of the Hooghly River, it is considered as an important centre of culture, arts and education in East India. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel for check in. You have the evening free to stroll through the streets of Kolkata and explore this metropolitan city. Return back to your hotel room for a peaceful night.

Begin the day with a healthy breakfast and proceed to check out. Set off on your journey to the village of Sonakhali, a popular starting point for the Sunderbans. By boat, transfer to Sajnekhali, an entry point for the Sunderban national park. Impenetrable forests and mangroves, lush Sundari trees from which this National Park derives its name. You will see nature at its purest best in Sunderban National Park. Sunderbans, the largest mangrove ecosystem in the world was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985 and was honoured as a Biosphere Reserve in 1989. On arrival check in to your hotel. In the afternoon get a chance to visit the famous Sajnekhali watch tower. Return to your hotel room in Sunderban for the night.

Start the day with breakfast fit for an adventurous day. Then set off on an enchanting boat cruise ride through the thrilling creeks and mangroves of the Sunderbans. Navigate through numerous rivers to reach the Dobanki Watch Tower. Walk through the thick canopied forest, a truly chilling experience. Then visit the Spotted Deer Rehabilitation Centre. Cruise through the Matla sea face from where you can see the Bay of Bengal. Cruise back to Pitchkhali. Lunch will be provided on the cruise. Return back to your resort in the evening. You have the rest of the evening at leisure. Spend a restful night in your hotel room in the Sunderbans.

After breakfast visit the Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower, the point from where you can sight the most number of tigers. Then meander through the rivers and narrow creeks of Pitchkhali, Sarakhali, Sudhanokhali and Banobibi Dharani. Continue on and cruise around the islands of the Sunderban Tiger Project area. There, go up to the watch tower and enjoy a spectacular panoramic view. Lunch will be served aboard the cruise. Post lunch depart for Sonakhali by boat. Once you reach Sonakhali set off for Kolkata by car. On arrival at Kolkata check in to your hotel. Spend the night comfortably in your hotel room.

Begin the day in Kolkata with a healthy breakfast after which we set off for a full day Kolkata city tour. Drive past the iconic Howrah Bridge suspended over the Hooghly River, the Belur Math, the headquarters of the Ram Krishna Math and the Vivekananda Setu. Visit the famous Dakshineshwara Kali temple and the exquisite St Paul’s Cathedral. Also drive past the General Post office of Kolkata and the Writer’s building, the secretariat building of the state government of West Bengal. Even visit the Victoria Memorial Hall and the Mother House to pay homage to Mother Teresa. You could even opt for pristine river cruise along the Ganges at your own cost. Return back to your hotel room in Kolkata after this wonderful day.

Begin the day with one last breakfast meal in Kolkata after which check out. Transfer to the Kolkata airport or the Howrah Railway station from where you can carry on to your further destinations.
