- Visa approval lies solely at the discretion of the Consulate. Visa can be applied one month prior to the travel.
- Check whether you need a visa. - Mainly, there are three types of visas for Malaysia, namely – visa without reference (VTR), visa with reference (VDR), and Visa on Arrival (VOA). You need to know your purpose of visit before applying for any visa.
- It’s a good idea to send in your visa application at least a week prior to your date of travel since it takes about 5-6 days to process the visa.
- Normally, Indians will need to obtain a visa in advance, if they’re directly flying to the land of Malay. However, as per the new policy introduced in 2015, Indians and Chinese will now be eligible for visa on arrival so long as they arrive from either of these countries – Thailand, Singapore, or Indonesia.
