Situated in Western Asia, towards the northeastern strand of the Arabian Peninsula, the State of Qatar is one of the most significant nations in the Middle East, abutting Saudi Arabia to the south. Despite being a pint-sized land, Qatar is extremely well-heeled by virtue of its oil and natural gas reserves. When one thinks of a holiday, Qatar does not usually spring to the mind. In fact, it has even been looked upon as one of the most ‘boring’ places to visit. However, this perception has changed in the recent times. Qatar is amassing a lot of attention for Islamic art, world-class souks, lip-smacking cuisine and stunning architecture.
