Tucked away in the Persian Gulf is the small Arab sovereignty of Bahrain. Bahrain is an island nation that is sandwiched between Qatar and Saudi Arabia spanning across just 780 sq km of turf with a population of only about 1,234,571. Bahrain is a ‘high income economy’ as identified by the World Bank. The country is not very popular as a ‘tourist’ destination but very few know of its unique appeals. Bahrain is home to the site of ancient Dilmun and has been the hotbed of pearl angling for Eons.
Almost three years ago, the Kingdom of Bahrain unveiled a visa policy as per which Indian citizens are eligible to apply for electronic visas, making it significantly easier to travel to Bahrain. These visas are extendable up to 30 days.
Having said that, Bahrain does not grant long-term visas to tourists. If you’re planning a short visit to the country, here’s everything you might want to know about the procedure.
Documents Required:
- A scanned copy (colour) of the front and last page of your passport.
- Confirmed return air tickets
- A scanned copy of your Aadhar card
- Certificate of Employment (at the current organization). In case you’re self-employed, Certificate of Incorporation and Registration will be required.
- Bank statements of the last six months, signed and attested by a bank official. Your account must reflect at least Rs. 90,000 balance.
- In case you’re being hosted by someone at their house, you’ll need to submit a host CPR Card and scanned colour copies of their passports.
- Any additional documents requested by Bahrain immigration.
Steps:
- The Bahrain visa process is entirely online.
- Before anything else, know your ‘purpose of visit’.
- Gather all the above mentioned documents and submit those to us via e-mail. Make sure that your photos are as per the given guidelines.
- Pay the visa fees online
- Once the application has been authorized, we’ll send you the visa via e-mail.
- Cross-check all the details on the visa.
Points to Remember:
- Remember that it will take anywhere between 7 to 10 days to get the visa. Therefore, it’s wise to begin the process at least two weeks prior to your travel date.
- You are not permitted to carry out any work-related meetings or assignments in Bahrain on this visa.
- You may enter only once on the single entry visa and will have to re-apply in case you wish to travel again.
- This visa is not extendable and visitors will be penalized in case they overstay beyond the visa validity period.
- Most importantly, it will cost Rs. 13,200 per applicant to process the visa. This includes the consulate application fees, service charges, and all other taxes. However, "OK to board" charged will be separate. Furthermore, if you live outside Mumbai, an additional Rs. 700 will be levied for courier services.
Now that you have all the information you need, we urge you to get in touch with us to have your visa arranged for an upcoming trip to Bahrain.
