Domestic Flights

Before you book your domestic flight

• What is an e-ticket?

  An electronic ticket (called as e-ticket) is a paperless electronic document with a unique confirmation number. Musafir.com India will email your flight e-ticket once the booking is confirmed and payments are done. It is necessary to take a print out of your e-ticket and carry it along with your valid photo ID to the airport and present it at the airline counter while checking in for your flight.

• Can I book multi-city flight tickets?

  Yes. You can.

• What is the maximum number of flight seats I can book on Musafir.com India?

  You can book a maximum of 9 flight seats at one time. For more passengers, you have to re-complete the booking and payment process again.

• Can I book infant tickets on Musafir.com India?

  Yes, you can book one infant flight tickets per adult with us. To avail infant fares, the infant must be under 24 months of age throughout the journey (both outbound and return) period that you are booking. Ensure that you are carrying a valid age proof of the infant while checking in at the airline counter. Infants must be accompanied by an adult (at least 18 years old).

While making the domestic flight booking

• I’m getting zero flight results on the search page.

  You must clear your browser cache and try once again. If you still get zero flight results, it is because either there is no availability of flights of your select dates or we are unable to find flights on the searched route.

• While booking my domestic flight, where can I enter my frequent flyer number?

  You can enter your frequent flyer number while making your domestic flight bookings. We have a specific tab placed on the traveller’s details page where you can enter your frequent flyer number. In case, you forget to enter the frequent flyer number while booking, simply give us (24 hours prior to your flight departure) a call and we will add it in your confirmed booking.

• Why are few airlines missing from the search results when I’ve selected 5 passengers (adult + children)?

  This is because few airlines don’t allow us to book more than 4 passengers (adult + children) in one go. Try to search for less than 4 passengers.

• After submitting my payment details, I got a blank screen. I didn’t receive my e-ticket but did get charged for the booking.

  We are really sorry for the inconvenience you faced. But hey, don’t you worry. All you have to do is call us at 022 4164 2214 or email us at help@in.musafir.com and we will assist you with further steps. We suggest that you should not re-book your flights again as you may end up getting charged twice.

After completing the domestic flight booking

• How do I know if my flight bookings are confirmed?

  Once the payment is received by us, we will send you an email and SMS confirming your domestic flight details. Your e-ticket & Receipt will be send along with the email.

• How do I get my e-ticket?

  We will send your e-ticket once the payment process is completed. The e-ticket will be sent to the email address provided by you while making the booking.

• How can I get a flight boarding pass for an e-ticket?

  Simply show your e-ticket print-out at the airline check-in counter and the airline representative will issue your boarding pass for you.

• Do I have to show my identity proof at the airport?

  Yes. The airport authority and airline staff requires your valid identity proof to provide you access to the airport and check you in for the flight.

After the domestic flight booking

• How can I select my preferred seat on the flight?

  Some domestic airlines do permit online seat preferences and pre-bookings. However, you have to directly contact the airline for the same. We don’t have the pre-seat booking options with us.

• Do I have to pay something extra at the airport?

  It depends on the airport you are flying from. You might have to pay extra for your luggage if you are exceeding the airline’s luggage limit.

• How can I find my baggage limit?

  Please check your e-ticket for your baggage limit. You can also visit the specific airline website you are flying with to check the baggage limit in the ‘Baggage Allowance’ section.

• I have misspelled my name while making the flight booking. What should I do now?

  In such case, you have to cancel and re-book your flight ticket.

• I have entered the wrong prefix (Mr/Ms/Mrs) for my name. What should I do now?

  Simply call us at 022 4164 2214 and we will find out if the airline you are booked with allow such changes. If the airline doesn’t allow the title change, you have to cancel and re-book your flight ticket.

Changes and amendments

• What is an amendment?

  An amendment is a change. You can change your travel date and time of flight. However, you cannot change your travel route (sector) or the airline. Please note that there are amendment charges levied by the airline and Musafir.com India. The charges may differ depending on the airline, route and booking class.

• What are the amendment charges?

  The amendment charges may differ with airline, booking class and the travel sector. Apart from the airline’s amendment fee, Musafir.com India charges an additional amendment processing fee of Rs 250 per passenger and per sector. These charges will be collected when you are making the amendment to your booking. Apart from the amendment charges, the fare difference amount, if any, will also be charged.

• How can I make changes in my flight booking?

  Simply call us at 022 4164 2214 or email us at cancellation@in.musafir.com 24 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure. If it is less than 24 hours, you have to connect with the respective airline directly for Changes.

Flight cancellations and refunds

• How to cancel my flight booking?

  In case of cancelling your reserved flight booking, just visit our contact section on the website. On the right hand side, click on ‘For cancellation’ tab and fill in the required details. Our travel expert will call you within an hour to reconfirm your flight cancellation request. You can also call us at 022 4164 2214 for instant cancellation.

• My flight got cancelled by the airline. How do I get my refund?

  If your flight got cancelled by the airline, simply call us at 022 4164 2214 or email us at cancellation@in.musafir.com with your trip id number.

• When is the latest I can cancel by flight booking?

  You can cancel your booking any time before 24 hours of your scheduled flight departure. If it is less than 24 hours, you have to connect with the respective airline directly for cancellations.

• What are the flight cancellation charges?

  The flight cancellation charge depends on the airline, the sector and class of booking and the time of cancellation. Apart from the cancellation charges levied by the airline, Musafir.com will levy Rs 250 per passenger and per sector for domestic air ticket cancellation. This fee will be over and above the airline cancellation charges.

• How will I get the refund after the cancellation?

  Once the cancellation process is initiated, you will receive your ticket refund within 3 to 15 working days. It will be credited back to the same account from which the booking was confirmed. Sometimes the refund process takes longer depending on the airline process.

• I booked my flights on Musafir.com India but cancelled it directly with the airline. How can I claim my refund?

  You should inform us about the cancellation immediately. The refund takes anywhere between 3 to 15 working days (from the day you inform us about the cancellation). In case there was a no-show or the flight was cancelled by the airline, the refund process might take a bit longer.
