Documents Required
- An original passport with a minimum validity of three months (from the date of return) and a minimum of two blank pages for visa stamps
- Originals of all old passports (if any) showing the travel history and previous visas, if any
- A printed copy of the German Visa application form, filled in correctly and signed
- Two recent passport-sized colour photos with a matte or semi-matte finish, 80% face coverage with white background and without border (Size:35mmx45mm)
- Residents of Chennai will have to provide photographs with different specifications, i.e. two recent passport-sized colour photographs with a glossy finish,80% face coverage with white background and no border (Size:35mmx45mm)
- Photographs cannot be older than three months, scanned or stapled or used for any other previous visa
- A covering letter mentioning your name, designation, passport number, the purpose of travel and duration of the stay in brief. The letter should be duly signed by an authorised signatory with the company stamp, name, and designation of the signatory. The letter should be addressed to The German Consulate General, Mumbai
- If you are self-employed, the covering letter must be on the official letterhead of the company
- An invitation letter by your host in Germany mentioning the name and duration of the stay
- You will need to furnish a formal obligation letter if the sponsor is not a German citizen. An A4 size copy of the sponsor’s passport including his/her valid resident permit should be included
- You will need to provide latest salary slips,and 3 months bank statements
- If you are employed you will need to furnish your income tax returns (ITR) for the last 3 years, last three months, salary slips, bank statement for the last 3 months mentioning the bank’s name, and the bank’s telephone number clearly.
- If you are self- employed then your personal and company income tax returns (ITR) for last 3 years, personal and company bank statement for last 3 months mentioning the bank’s name, and displaying the bank’s telephone number clearly will be required.
- The Bank statements should be printed and stamped on A4 size sheet
- Proof of occupation should be provided by self-employed travellers using the following documents
- Company Registration Certificate
- Brief Company Profile
- Articles of Memorandum (in case the applicant is MD/Director)
- Proof of Proprietorship/Partnership (In case the applicant is a Proprietor/Partner in a firm)
- mport/Export Licence (if applicable)
- If you are is a student, a leave sanction letter from your school, your parent's income tax returns (ITR), bank statement and ‘no objection’ (NOC) letter will be required
- If the applicant is a minor, then you will need to furnish a birth certificate from school confirming the current school admission and sanctioned leave of absence. Also, you will need a consent letter from both parents regarding the child’s travel, A4 size copy of parents’ passports, death certificate of the parent (s)- if applicable, and/or court order regarding child’s custody (if applicable). All these documents should be original and in A4 size copy
- Itinerary and hotel confirmation or a guarantee from the host for the entire period of stay in Germany as proof of accommodation
- Confirmed flight tickets
- A copy of the medical insurance for the duration of the stay amounting to 30,000 Euros which needs to be submitted as original along with a photocopy
