List of documents required for applying a tourist visa to France:
- Original passport issued less than 10 years ago and having the validity of at least Six months more and it must have at least 2 blank pages left.
- Two photocopies of Passport.
- Photocopies of all valid visas acquired by the person currently i.e. US, U.K. and previous Schengen visas.
- Application form along with undertaking form with all columns completely filled and signed by the applicant.
- 2 latest photographs with dimensions of 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm.
- Photocopies of all valid American, British and previous Schengen visas.
- Covering letter signed by the applicant.
- Photocopy of prepaid hotel reservation OR sponsorship certificate.
- Photocopy of the air ticket.
- Photocopy of ITINERARY prepared by the travel agency.
- Photocopies of last 3 year income tax papers, bank statement, and salary slips.
- Photocopy as well as original overseas medical insurance policy documents (covering minimum EUR 30,000 medical expense) and repatriation, evacuation cover. The insurance should be valid throughout for the entire period of person’s stay in France.
Steps
- Download the application form and fill in the details completely. You can also fill it electronically and then take its printout. Please check the documents twice before submitting the application to avoid the rejection.
- Acquire the above-mentioned supplementary documents to be included in your application form.
- It may take 14 to 21 days to receive a short term visa and about 2 months to receive a long-term visa.
Points to remember
- Self-employed applicants must submit proof of business.
- Applicants must submit a copy of marriages certificate if necessary.
- Children require their own passports.
- An applicant may be requested to submit additional certificates during the examination of his/her form.
- All the documents should be valid and accurate. Any fraud or invalidity of information may lead you to permanent ineligibility for France visa.
