Documents Required for UK visa

Here are the documents you need to get a UK travel visa.

• Your original passport along with old passport, if any.
• The passport needs to be valid for at least six months from the submission date of the visa, with a minimum of three blank pages.
• The UK Visa application form that’s been filled online.
• Confirmed two-way air tickets.
• Two recent passport-sized photographs against a white background with a matte finish (35 mm x 45 mm with at least 60-80% close-up)
• A covering letter which mentions all details of the trip and the traveller, the purpose of the visit and the duration of the stay.
• If you are employed, the covering letter needs to be signed by an authorised signatory of the organization. It will also need to be stamped with the company stamp.
• It should be addressed to the Visa Office at the British Deputy High Commission Office in Kolkata.
• Your IT Returns for the last three years.
• Original bank statements of transactions for the last six months, signed and attested by a bank official.
• You are required to provide proof of your investments including your fixed deposits, mutual funds, national savings certificate, shares and stocks etc.
• Details of your confirmed hotel booking

The documents will need to be accompanied by the confirmation of the accuracy of the translation from the translator, with the date and the personal details and contact number of the translator.
• It takes around 15 working days for the visa to be processed post the appointment.
• Granting of visa is at the discretion of the concerned authorities, even after all criteria are met.
• The documents cannot be collected by anyone other than the applicant. Alternatively, you can make arrangements to have them couriered from the visa office.
