Located at a distance of 10 km from Belagavi, the Belgaum Airport serves the state of Karnataka. The airport is in close proximity to the Sambra Air Force Station used by the Indian Air Force as a non-flying basic training centre.
Spanning on an area of 440 acres currently, the airport is slated for expansion, owing to the 298 acres of land recently acquired by the government, around existing establishment. This land has been handed over to the Airport Authority of India, which owns and operates this airport.
The airport houses a single terminal, equipped with 3 check-in counters. Spread across an area of 1,160 square meters, the terminal offers all the modern-day amenities for the convenience of passengers. Currently, the airport offers direct flight services to only two destinations, Bengaluru and Mumbai. However, it offers indirect flights to almost all the major cities across India.
