Mumbai Airport

Getting its name from the renowned Maratha King, the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport of Mumbai is the second busiest airport in India, next only to the Indira Gandhi International Airport of New Delhi. Handling over 44 million passengers annually, this airport houses two terminals. Terminal 1 in Santa Cruz is dedicated to catering domestic flights and passengers. Terminal 2, on the other hand, hosts both domestic as well as international carriers. This terminal is located in Andheri.

Initially established in the year 1942, the airport went under a massive renovation, which was completed in January 2014. Thanks to the modern infrastructure and provisions for providing commendable passenger service the airport has managed to win many awards such as Platinum A Design Award 2015 and the Vasundhara Award 2015 (for environmental conservation) amongst others.

The airport is known to serve over 47 destinations in India, with the most frequented cities being Delhi and Bengaluru. It also serves as many as 43 international destinations, of which the most popular routes happen to be that to Dubai and to Singapore.
