Getting its name from the 5th Prime Minister of India, the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport of Lucknow is the second busiest airport in North India, with respect to passenger traffic. Ranking next, only to the Indira Gandhi International Airport of New Delhi, the airport serves close to 4 million passengers annually. Located at a distance of 10 km from the city, in Amausi, the airport received its ‘International Status’ only in the year 2012. In the year 2013, the airport was awarded as the "Best Airport" by AAI (Airports Authority of India), along with Jodhpur Airport.
Not only does the airport enjoys commendable connectivity with all the major cities in India, but also offers regular flight services to important cities of the Middle East, including as Dubai, Abu Dhabi
The airport houses two terminals, wherein Terminal 1 is dedicated to the handling of international flight operations. Terminal 2 on the other hand exclusively caters to domestic carriers and passengers.
