Essentially established to serve the cities of Hubli as well as Dharwad in Karnataka, the Hubli Airport is located on Gokul Road, at a distance of 8 km from the city.
Spanning over an area of 369 acres, this airport was established as a result of an MOU signed by the Government of Karnataka with the Airport Authority of India. The airport houses a single terminal with a passenger holding capacity of 72, for both arrivals as well as departures. The terminal is equipped with 2 check-in counters and 1 security counter.
Spice Jet and Air Pegasus are two airlines which primarily serve this airport and offer connectivity to cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Mangalore amongst others. The airport also avails appreciable connectivity to other important cities across the nation, via indirect flights.
The airport is currently undergoing an expansion, which is slated to be complete by late 2018.
