The Civil Airport of Vadodara, located at a distance of 7 km from the city centre is situated in an area known as Harni, and is hence also referred to as ‘Civil Airport Harni’. While essentially domestic at present, the airport is slated to be open for international flights services in the coming time. Given that Vadodara is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Gujarat, the international flight operations of the airport is expected to benefit the state’s economy.
Currently, the airport enjoys impeccable connectivity with all the major cities of the nation, through service providers like Air India, IndiGo and Jet Airways. While the existing terminal of the airport has a fairly low capacity for handling passengers, the new terminal which is under construction will support an increased number of flight operations, while also adding to the passenger holding capacity of the airport. The new terminal will also give way to the much awaited international operations.
