Established back in the year 1988, the Agatti Airport serves the Agatti Island of the Lakshadweep Union Territory. This airport is the only one which is situated off India’s west coast. While the original structure was more of a makeshift project, the now standing terminal was taken under construction in the year 2006. The renovation reached completion in late 2010, after which the airport operations were reinstated.
The airport houses a single terminal with a passenger holding capacity of 25 each, for arrivals as well as for departures. With a modest passenger traffic, the airport is equipped with 1 check-in and 1 security counter each.
Air India Regional is the leading airline which serves this airport. It offers regular direct flight services to Cochin and also avails indirect flight services to a large majority of important cities across India.
