Essentially known as the Bamrauli Airport, the Allahabad airport is located at a distance of 12 km from the city. Serving the state of Uttar Pradesh this airport was established back in the year 1919. Until the year 1946, the airport served as an international airport, with regular flight services to London.
Spanning over a comparatively small land area of 1 acre, this airport houses a single terminal, with a passenger holding capacity of 65, both for arrivals as well as departures. While the most popular and the only direct route from this airport was that of Delhi, Alliance Air recently started off a direct service from Allahabad to Mumbai. The airport also enjoys connecting flight services to some major cities of India, including Nagpur and Lucknow.
