The world of Bollywood is ruled by three heads that wear the crown. Of the three King Khans, Salman Khan is undoubtedly the king of blockbuster Eid releases. This story begins five years back in September 2010. The day dawned like any other, except there was something different about it, it was Eid. Salman Khan used this auspicious day to release his movie Dabangg. The movie was a blockbuster hit. Along with striking gold, Salman Khan struck upon a superhit formula. Since that day, every year, people eagerly await Salman Khan’s blockbuster Eid release. Once again this year he has done the same with his movie Bajarangi Bhaijaan. This movie sees ‘Bhai’ embarking on a heartwarming journey that crosses geographical borders. While in the movie he sets off on a journey for a good deed, it got us wondering what are the reasons that people travel? So as an homage to ‘Bhai’s’ latest release, we thought we’d take you on a journey exploring the various reasons why you should travel. We give you the reasons, all you have to do is book your flight tickets and go.

1. For a new experience

Our daily life can get pretty dull and monotonous. Every once in a while we feel the need to seek out a new adventure. Even if it just for a day, we wish to be someplace else, anywhere, other than where we are. This respite comes in the form of traveling. Even if you know where it is you’re going, it’s different from your routine and that in itself makes it a new experience.

2. To meet new people

Work, friends, family, we are always surrounded by familiar faces, people we know. So, how do you meet new people? The answer to that question is travel. Travelling takes you to a whole new world, a world apart from yours. This new world gives you a chance to meet new people. It’s only when you meet new people that you’re exposed to new perspectives, that’s how you grow and you come to the realization that the world is a whole lot bigger than what you initially thought.

3. For Food

Every foodie in the world will vouch for the fact that food is a very good reason to travel. While you might enjoy the culinary options your country or your city has to offer, there’s a huge gastronomical world out there waiting for you. Dishes and cuisines you’ve never even heard of await you, all you have to do is step out of your cocoon. If you’re a self-proclaimed foodie, then traveling should be a must on your list.

4. To getaway

People often say that you should stay put and face your problems head-on. But I’ll let you in on a little secret; once in a while it’s okay to run away. Life can get very stressful at times and it isn’t always easy to face things. In situations like those, it’s advisable to book a flight ticket or a train ticket or simply get in your car, take off and travel. Travelling will make you feel calmer, relaxed. Once you’re rejuvenated and strengthened you can return to tackle the problem. The issue isn’t going anywhere and will be waiting for you when you get back. So take off, put your feet up and enjoy for a while.

5. For others

Other than leisure, work, and fun, you could travel for humanitarian reasons. There are many organizations that organize trips, giving you an opportunity to travel around the world as well as do a good deed. One of the most famous and well-known would be Habitat for Humanity which helps build houses in areas with issues of poverty. So go travel for humanity.
