India had closed all its international borders since March 2020 in order to control the spread of the pandemic. Till date International travel especially for tourism, the purpose is still restricted. India has established 'Air bubbles' with few countries allowing restricted travel abroad related to work and repatriation.

An Air bubble is a temporary bilateral agreement between two countries, establishing a corridor so that essential travel is possible between these countries during the pandemic situation while regular flights remain suspended.

To travel to and from these countries, specific guidelines must be followed. These guidelines differ among countries. Below mentioned are the list of countries and the guidelines -

United Arab Emirates (UAE)

The air bubble between India and UAE is valid until 31 October 2020. Indian carriers and UAE carriers are now authorized to operate flights between India and UAE.

Passengers that are allowed to travel from India to UAE

UAE nationals stranded in India.
ICA approved UAE residents destined for UAE only.
Indian nationals possessing any type of valid UAE visa and destined for UAE only.

Passengers that are allowed to travel from UAE to India

Indian nationals that are stranded in UAE.
All OCI cardholders in possession of UAE passports.
UAE nationals including diplomats possessing a valid visa issued by an Indian Mission in any category covered under The Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines dated 30 June 2020 as amended from time to time.

Bahrain

Air India, Air India Express, and Gulf Air are now authorized to operate services between India and Bahrain.

Passengers that are allowed to travel from India to Bahrain

Bahraini nationals or residents are stranded in India.
Indian nationals that have any valid visa from Bahrain and destined to travel to Bahrain only.

Passengers that are allowed to travel from Bahrain to India

Indian nationals are stranded in Bahrain.
All OCI cardholders possessing Bahrain passports.
Bahraini nationals as well as diplomats possessing a valid visa issued by an Indian Mission in any category covered under The Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines dated 30 June 2020 as amended from time to time.

Germany

Indian carriers and German carriers are now authorized to operate services between India and Germany.

Passengers that are allowed to travel from India to Germany

European Union nationals or residents, foreign nationals or spouses of these persons stranded in India, destined for Europe and transiting through Germany.
Indian nationals who are permitted to travel abroad as per The Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines dated 01 July 2020 and destined for the European Union.
Seamen of foreign nationalities and Seamen possessing Indian passports will be allowed subject to approval from the Ministry of Shipping.

Passengers that are allowed to travel from Germany to India

Indian nationals stranded in Germany.
Foreigners including diplomats as well as OCI cardholders are eligible to enter India as per The Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines dated 30 June 2020 as amended from time to time.

Passengers that are allowed to travel from India to France

Indian nationals who are authorized to travel abroad as per The Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines dated 01 July 2020 and destined for the European Union.
Stranded European Union nationals or residents and foreign nationals as well as spouses of these persons destined for Europe and transiting through France.
Seamen of foreign nationalities and Seamen possessing Indian passports will be allowed subject to approval from the Ministry of Shipping.

Canadian nationals, residents and, foreigners with a valid Canadian visa eligible to enter Canada

Passengers that are allowed to travel from India to the USA

US citizens, legal permanent residents as well as foreign nationals possessing a valid US visa.
Indian national possessing any valid US visa.
Seamen of foreign nationalities and Seamen possessing Indian passports will be allowed subject to approval from the Ministry of Shipping.

Indian nationals that are stranded in the USA.

Nationals or residents of Japan that are stranded in India.
Foreign nationals possessing a valid visa of Japan.

The above is subject to the border measures and travel restrictions set by the government of Japan at the time of travel.

Maldives

Indian carriers and Maldivian carriers are now authorized to operate flights between India and Maldives.

Passengers that are allowed to travel from India to the Maldives

Maldivian nationals or residents stranded in India.
Foreign nationals possessing a valid Maldivian visa.
It would be for the airlines concerned to ensure that there is no travel restriction for Indian nationals to enter the Maldives before issuing of ticket/ boarding pass to the Indian passenger.

Qatar

The air bubble between India and Qatar is valid until 31 October 2020. Indian carriers and Qatar Airways are now authorized to operate flights between India and Qatar.

Qatari nationals that are stranded in India.
Indian nationals possessing any type of valid Qatar visa and destined for Qatar only.

Passengers that are allowed to travel from Qatar to India

Indian nationals that are stranded in Qatar.
