Tourist Visa is issued to people who want to visit Schengen region for travelling purpose or want to visit their relatives in the Schengen zone. But, it is only valid for 90 days and you are not allowed to do any work unless the visa state is different.
Types of Tourist Visa
- Uniform Schengen Visas (USV)
It is like a permit which is issued to Schengen country members to transit within the Schengen territories for 90 days in every six months and the period starts from the date of entry.
There are two categories to apply:
Category “A” is an Airport Transit Visa, allotted when a person is passing through the airport of a Schengen country without setting foot in the country, while travelling to a non Schengen country.
Category “C” stands for Short Term Visa, it allows the person to stay in Schengen country for that particular period, according to his purpose of travelling: Single entry, Double entry, multiple entry visas are available.
- Limited Territorial Validity Visas (LTV)
Traveller with this Visa can travel to only a certain Schengen country or countries that have issued the Visa.
- National Visas
It is a “D” Category visa, issued to an individuals interested in studying, working or permanently residing in Schengen country. It is a Single entry visa but allows you to travel the whole region of Schengen without any other kind of visa requirements.
Steps to apply for Tourist Visa
- Book your appointment 15 days before the day of departure
- Fill out the application form and read all the instructions carefully
- Attach your recent photograph according to the dimensions and background colour required
- Attach all the mandatory documents required
- Give confident and correct answers while appearing for the interview
Reasons why Visa gets rejected
- If you have misrepresented your identity by presenting fake travel documents
- Damaged passport or some pages are missing from the passport
- You are lacking to present proof of your accommodation in Schengen
